Batting first we reached a competitive 102-3. Oli Clark made 39 and Dan de la Motte 34 not out. In reply Hartlepool got off to a good start before James Harman picked up the important wicket of Ben Scott for 20. Ellis Besford came in to the attack and bowled an excellent spell (4-0-12-1) to pull it back. Kieran Harland came back for a second spell and bowled with good pace and deservedly picked up a wicket before James Bendle (4-0-10-1) won us the game with an inspired spell under pressure. Hartlepool needed 3 to win in the final over and James held his nerve to concede only 1 run to spark jubilant celebrations. Great team performance from the boys who showed great spirit!
