U9 Cricket Festivals (Soft ball)

2 Apr 2019 by Martin Clark

I’ve registered our interest in becoming part of an u9 Competition. It is a festival model where each month (one Sunday afternoon) different clubs will host an event aimed at getting younger children into cricket. We don’t have to go to every one but I am keen we play a part.

There are 6 festivals over the summer and the following clubs are playing:

Sedgefield
Hartlepool
Willington
Norton
Newton Aycliffe
Barnard Castle
Stockton
Rockliffe Park
Raby Castle
Shildon
Middleton-in-Teesdale

It’s 6 players per team and we can put in more than one team if we have the numbers. Obviously we can take more than 6 and rotate. It’s open to boys and girls and the games are played with a wind ball. Under-arm bowling is allowed but we encourage everyone to have a go over-arm. Any bats can be used but no wicket keeping gloves are allowed.

The first festival is at Sedgefield on the 28th April and if we are putting a team in I need to confirm by the 14th.

Can you let me know if your child or others you know would be interested please? I will also need some volunteers willing to support. If you are you will need DBS/Safeguarding which we can arrange with you.

Thanks
Martin
